Как известно, с патчем Муссона ввели и новую систему питомцев. Официальный форум с информацией подвел, так что попытаюсь объяснить понятней.
До обновления морф питомца начинался с Незавершенного камня духа-хранителя (Волчонок). для примера

По стандартной схеме в меню усиления мы поднимали уровень за камни усиления хранителя, потом превращали в легендарного, поднимали уровень, превращали...
Обновление разделило наших питомцев на внешку и на ауру питомца. Аура - то, что дает нам статы, внешка же имеет все те же свойства, что и изначальные Камни духа-хранителя, но не имеет статов (ну, фиолетовый пингвин с 2950 хп)
Аура теперь и есть наше начало морфа питомца, при экипировке которой рядом с персонажем ничего не появляется до тех пор, пока не навесить внешку. Для понятности, приравняем нашу ауру к оружию Пути Хона, которое мы первое морфили.

По стандарту, поднимаем уровни. Вопросы начинаются при превращении в легендарного (забытого, следующего...) пета.
В качестве жертвы мы можем использовать либо изначальные Незавершенные камни духа-хранителя (Волк/Огонек/Манул/Призрак), либо уже ВНЕШКУ Камень Волка/Огонька/Манула/Призрака (используется для превращения как изначальных петов, так и новой Ауры). Саму Ауру из инвентаря мы использовать НЕ можем. Как, например, мы НЕ можем использовать оружие Пути Хона для прорыва всё того же оружия Пути Хона.
Навесить на Ауру любую внешку и использовать как жертву мы также НЕ можем. Точно так же как не можем прорвать оружие Пути Хона любым другим оружием с внешкой Отродья.
С морфом пета всё. Сама внешка также имеет развитие. Петы бывают трех видов: обычный, охранный и забытый.

Если вы начали морф с Ауры, то внешка вместе с рангом Ауры НЕ меняется. Внешку нужно улучшать отдельно. Для это потребуется три одиновых камня желаемой внешки (допустим, три призрака) и она улучшается в обычном окне усиления

В этом есть как плюс, так и минус. К примеру, вы можете бегать с фиол.петом, но зато с внешкой забытого. Но если вы не хотите менять внешку своему питомцу и ещё не распылили изначальный, то советую не пылить питомца, во избежание лишних трат.
